The Department’s principal role is to collect, process and disseminate credit or other information in the field of agriculture and rural development from/to Central Government, RBI or any banking company or any FI as notified by GOI. It also undertakes analytical studies and forecasting of important macro economic indicators. It provides technical guidance to other Departments on data management and statistical issues and manages data warehousing in NABARD. It also publishes statistical reports and handbooks.
