Support to BIRD, Lucknow for conduct of Training of Trainers Programmes
As a part of capacity building initiatives, NABARD has decided to conduct training programmes for (i) the Board of Directors and (ii) Senior Managers/Branch Managers of State Cooperative Banks (SCBs)/District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs) in a structured and phased manner.
(a) BIRD has conducted Training of Trainers Programmes (TOTs) for the Faculty Members (FMs) of Cooperative Training Institutes i.e. Regional Institutes of Cooperative Management (RICMs), Institutes of Cooperative Management (ICMs) and Agriculture Cooperative Staff Training Institutes (ACSTIs). Training module, reading material and session plan etc. for conduct of training programme (duration 3 days) for the Board of Directors of SCBs/DCCBs have been prepared. Training material in Hindi has been circulated among the SCBs and NABARD ROs. English copy of training material has also been provided to SCBs and NABARD ROs to get the same translated in local language.
Course contents of the programme are listed below;
- Introduction and objectives of Programme - Experience Sharing / Ice-breaking
- Cooperative Banks in changing banking scenario - GOI Revival Package for STCCS
- Change Management, Leadership Development, Role of Board of Directors
- Important provisions of various Acts
- Business diversification, Financial Inclusion, Loan policies and documentation
- Understanding health of Cooperative Banks through financial statements
- Funds and Investment Management
- Board Meetings – Agenda with reference to NABARD guidelines, Role Play
- Comparative analysis of financial performance – Case Exercise
- Profit Planning and Development Action Plan
- Issues of good governance in Cooperative Banks and Internal Control Systems
- HRD aspects – Recruitment, Training & Placements - Disciplinary issues
(b) Training module, reading material and session plan etc. for conduct of training programme (duration: 5 days) for the Senior Management and the Branch Managers of SCBs/DCCBs are under preparation and will be circulated among the SCBs and NABARD ROs shortly.
