Functions of Department

 
TECHNICAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT
 

1. Particulars of its organization, functions and duties

Technical services department TSD is the service provider on technical issues and works in close collaboration with ICD, DPD-FS, DPD-NFS, CPD, SPD & PCD, etc. The department helps in appraising the scheme technically & provides policy advocacy and guidance on farm sector investments covered under institutional credit to financing banks, State Governments, Government of India departments and planning commission, commodity boards, etc. The department maintains close liaison with agricultural universities and ICAR institutions in various disciplines. The major functions are as follows: -

 

MAJOR FUNCTIONS

  • Technical appraisal/scrutiny of scheme
  • Operation of R&D Fund
  • Identification of new technologies and development of innovative projects
  • Conducting special/sectoral studies to identify the constraints
  • Monitoring studies
  • Formulation of model schemes
  • Publication of technical digest
  • Liaison with research institutions and line departments
  • Advise management and other departments on technical matters
  • Conduct specific workshops/ training programmes on thrust areas
  • Members of expert groups/ committees of goi and other organizations
  • Guidance to ROs, PLP updations
  • Guest faculty support
  • Consultancy - NABCONS

CASES REFERRED TO TECHNICAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT ARE EXAMINED DEPENDING UPON THE TECHNICAL REQUIREMENT.
