 The Empowered Committee on Rastriya Sam Vikas Yojana in its meeting held on 12 August 2004 had approved the project ' Integrated Watershed Development of South Bihar' submitted by NABARD with an outlay of Rs. 60 crore. The programme envisages development of 80,000 ha. of degraded land in Jamuai, Banka, Gaya, Nawada, Munger, Aurangabad, Bhabua and Rohtas district in South Bihar with 'participatory approach'. The development / progress so far made under the programme is briefly given below.
