A Seminar on Agro processing
on 13 & 14 October 2008
at Mangalore
After successfully organising a national level seminar on use of ICT in Rural Financial Services captioned ‘Seminar on Rural e Empowerment’ in October 2007, Regional Training College, Mangalore has planned to organise another national level seminar on a topic of current interest ie. Agro processing, captioned as ‘Seminar on Agri Produce Enrichment”
2 .The Seminar is scheduled on 13 and 14 October 2008 and will be held at Hotel Goldfinch, Bunts Hostel Road, Mangalore. The seminar is intended for the senior officers from Commercial Banks, Regional Rural Banks and Cooperative Banks, apart from few representatives from Agro processing industry and Research institutions. It is proposed to have four business sessions, apart from a session for Group discussion by the participants on topics relating to the development of Agro processing industry, inaugural session and Valediction session. Following are the four Business sessions planned in the seminar
1. Policy Initiatives on Agro processing
2. Replicable Technology models in Agro processing
3. Credit Support for Agro processing
4. Role of Corporates in Agro processing and Marketing
3 The Seminar is likely to be inaugurated by our Chairman Shri U C Sarangi IAS and our Managing Director Dr. K G Karmakar is expected to attend the Valedictory session and deliver Valedictory address. Shri Ajit Kumar IAS, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, GOI has agreed to deliver Key note address. Senior officials from Government of India, Research Institutions, Government Corporations, Financial Institutions, Banks and Corporates have agreed to present papers on various subjects related to the above Business sessions. There will be fourteen papers being presented in the Seminar.
