1. Please refer to our Circular No. 105/DFIBT-04/2019 dated 23 April 2019 regarding support provided for Connectivity and Power Infrastructure under differentiated strategy for Financial Inclusion Fund (FIF). We would like to inform you that the provision of extending the benefits under the scheme to Other Districts and existing bank branches was reviewed in the recently held meeting of Advisory Board of FIF.
2. The problem of connectivity and power supply is still persistent in a few far flung areas and remotely located bank branches. After taking into consideration the feedback received from Banks, through respective SLBCs, it has been decided to partially modify the captioned scheme guidelines as indicated below:
i. The support for components under Connectivity and Power Infrastructure scheme viz. VSAT Deployment, Mobile Signal Booster Deployment and Solar Power Unit/UPS deployment has been extended to all districts.
ii. The support may also be given to existing bank branches which are facing power supply and connectivity issue, however, priority may be given to new branches being opened in unbanked areas while submitting proposals.
iii. The FI Sub Committee of SLBC and LDM would be required to certify the areas having no or intermittent connectivity.
3. All other terms and conditions prescribed in the circular ibid remains the same.
4. The State wise request received from SLBCs is appended in the Annexure for information.
