Functions and duties :
  • Implementation of provisions of the Official Languages Act, 1963 and the Official Language Rules, 1976.
  • Capacity building of members of staff to enable them do their official work in Hindi.
  • Submission of returns to Govt. of India
  • Publication of house journal Srijana
  • Translation from English to Hindi and vice versa and vetting thereof.
  • Conducting meetings of Official Language Implementation Committee and effective implementation of the decisions taken.
  • Guidance and monitoring of progressive use of Hindi in Head Office as well as Regional Offices8 TEs.
(ii) The powers and duties of its officers and employees As per NABARD Staff Rules, 1982 and NABARD Expenditure Rules, 2014 available at the url

(iii) Procedure followed in the decision making process, including channels of supervision and accountability
Hierarchy based decision making process with group approach is adopted for performing the functions of the department.

 Norms set for the discharge of duties originate from extant policy guidelines, circulars, manuals, etc

Official Language Implementation Committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of the Deputy Managing Director. Since it is an internal committee of the bank, members of the committee participate in the meeting and general public are not allowed to participate in the same. However, if demanded, its minutes can be made available to the concerned person.
