Goat farming encouraged by NABARD as an economic activity
By investing Rs 1,000 a tribal woman received three goats, two tripods and three vessels. They were required to return any of the three goats within one to three years of initiation
Free training, vaccination and first aid for ill goats provided at a nominal charge
Male buck provided for mating
THE IMPACT
Tribal women goat use offsprings as ATMs, by selling them at handsome rates of Rs 9,000 to Rs 10,000 each
Dairy products and fertilisers for selfconsumption or sale
Goats a source of income and used for weddings, medical expenses and other purposes
