About the Authors
Girija Srinivasan
is an expert in development finance and rural livelihoods with extensive inter-
national experience in consulting, technical assistance and studies. She has been a development
banker for 12 years and has written documents and books on community-based approaches
in finance livelihoods and microfinance. She has also authored the
Social Performance Report
for the years 2011–14 and serves on a few trust boards of governance.
N. Srinivasan
has been pursuing his personal interests in financial inclusion, rural finance
and livelihoods since 2007, after a career spanning about 30 years in RBI and NABARD. He
is currently active as an expert adviser and international consultant for different entities,
including the World Bank, ADB, Consultative Group to Assist the Poor (CGAP), IFAD,
GIZ, Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and MicroSave. He
also authored the well-known publication on microfinance called
State of the Sector Report
on Microfinance in India
for four years. He has also written a book on rural finance which
is to be shortly released. Apart from this, he has jointly authored books and contributed to
edited volumes in development finance and development economics. He also serves several
industry forums on the themes of financial inclusion, microfinance and responsible finance.
