Issue of Master Direction on CRR/SLR by RBI –
Withdrawal of NABARD’s Circulars on CRR/SLR
As you are aware, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 35A of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 and pursuant to Section 42 of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934 and Sections 18, 24 and 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949, the Reserve Bank of India has issued the Master Direction on CRR and SLR (viz. the Cash Reserve Ratio and Statutory Liquidity Reserve Directions, 2021) vide DOR.No.RET.REC.32/12.01.001/2021-22 (RBI/DOR/ 2021-22/80) dated 20 July 2021 (updated as on December 16, 2024), which is also applicable to all State Cooperative Banks (StCBs), District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs) and Regional Rural Banks (RRBs). These Directions comprehensively include guidelines on all aspects of NDTL and maintenance and reporting of CRR and SLR by the banks.
2. We advise that in view of the issue of the above Directions by the RBI, the instructions issued to StCBs and DCCBs on the subject vide various circular letters of NABARD as indicated in the Annexure, shall immediately stand withdrawn.
