Willow weaving is the only means of livelihood of Shakzah families (Kangri weavers)
Marginal formal banking services in Kulgam
THE SOLUTION
JLGs of willow weaving were organised in the project area – the first such in the State
5 groups were provided with loans of ` 50,000 each by the Elaqai Dehati Bank
THE IMPACT
Inspired by the initiative taken at Okai, 10 JLGs have been formed so far
Credit of Rs 7.5 Lakh from Elaqai Dehati Bank availed by 7 JLGs
