THE CHALLENGE
Bringing tribal families into the mainstream by improving their standard of living through creation of income-generating assets
THE SOLUTION
In the first five year project, NABARD sanctioned a grant of ? 247 lakh in 14 hamlets of Agali Gram Panchayat covering 557 tribal families
Community drinking water sources were rejuvenated and horticultural crops such as areca nut, cashew, nutmeg and amla were cultivated. Goats and cows were provided to farmers/li>

THE IMPACT
Tribal families which were earlier wage earners, now till their own land
Income supplemented through intercropping
Medical camps, health and hygiene programmes, awareness programmes on parenting and deaddiction conducted
Improvement in the quality of life of tribals
