Dr. Harsh Kumar Bhanwala, Chairman, NABARD called on Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu to discuss perspectives of developments in the state of Tamil Nadu. The meeting was chaired by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Edappadi Palaniswami and attended by Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, Shri. O. Paneerselvam and other Senior Ministers, including Smt. Girija Vaidyanathan, Chief Secretary and Shri. K Shanmugam, Addl. Chief Secretary. NABARD Chairman was accompanied by Shri. R. Amalorpavanathan, Deputy Managing Director, NABARD and Shri S. Nagoor Ali Jinnah, Chief General Manager, NABARD and other NABARD officials.
Hon’ble Chief Minister extended a warm welcome to Chairman and DMD and thanked NABARD for providing all support in formulating schemes and adequate funds for implementing various developmental programmes in the State. Hon’ble Chief Minister sought funding support from NABARD for projects relating to Climate Change, Food Park and River Linkage Project among others.
NABARD Chairman shared information relating to the various interventions of NABARD and requested the State Government to facilitate an enabling environment for the proposed increased flow of funds to the State. He also expressed his happiness over Tamil Nadu being the most efficient State in RIDF utilization as well as being a model State in creating warehouse infrastructure under WIF, besides initiating several exemplary initiatives such as Modernization of System Irrigation Tanks (Kudi Maramathu), Dry land Farming Mission and Modernization of APMCs and integration with Unified National Agricultural markets to bring in rural prosperity.
