Financial literacy camp for women SHG held in Chedema
Kohima | October 2021

Kohima, October 28 (MExN): A programme on sensitization and financial literacy camp for women SHG was held by the District Level Centre for Women- MSK, Kohima under BBBP and financed by NABARD, RO Dimapur at Chedema on October 27 in commemoration of Azadi ka Amrit Mehotsav (AKAM) to celebrate 75 years of Independence.

A press release stated here that the programme was chaired by Neipechau Mepfhuo, Women Welfare Officer, DLCW, Kohima. The welcome address and vigilance Pledge and message were given by Poji, DDM Kohima, NABARD. This was followed by presentation on financial products/services/insurance schemes by Nchumthung Kikon, Branch Head, Nagaland State Cooperative Bank, Kohima Branch and Kekhüsezo Zao, Head of Business Centre, National Insurance Company Ltd. Kohima. Introduction on Mahila Shakti Kendra was given by Vikeduozo Sorhie, District Coordinator, DLCW, Kohima.

NSRLM Kohima at a glance was given by Kekhriengunuo Suokhrie, Area Coordinator, Kohima Block. The discussion session was conducted by Juliana Medom, State Team Leader, MSK. A short survey was also conducted prior the programme.

An overview of the survey reveals that in a span of five years the number of bank account holders has increased in the village and the level of financial literacy has also increased in comparison to the previous years.
