called as “high frequency savings” in order to aid them in times of less or no income.
Increased savings in all forms could lead to lower informal borrowings. The reason why
this framework is important is because we are investigating 1) the effect of the
“compulsory savings” on SHG members? This is to say that we would like to know if
they have realized the benefit of small continuous savings and have increased the same.
Additionally we would also like to find out what this savings has been used for and if this
has lead them to become better off economically. Lastly we also would like to know
what is lacking in savings products and what else can be offered.
