Jeewa has been a member of a SHG Group – Kuringi Malar, for the past 10 years. She
came to Dharmapuri 20 years back when she got married to Shiva. She feels that in the
last 20 years the NGO IVDP has completely changed the lives of people like her. Her
husband owns a small piece of land (1 acre) on which both of them used to work.
Irrigation was their major problem other than getting inputs for agriculture which was
neither cheap nor easy to obtain. They would get loans from cooperative banks in the
area but had a hand to mouth existence.
