Villagers living in the hilly regions of Rajsamand and Udaipur districts used to face acute shortage of potable
water owing to scarcity of rains that resulted in depletion of groundwater. NABARD sanctioned assistance to
Government of Rajasthan for construction of a dam on Banas river along with a water treatment plant to ensure
availability of quality water.
> Availability of clean potable water in the project area.
> The project has also helped reduce water-borne diseases in the area drastically.
