Shri Ashok Barnwal, is an IAS officer of the 1991-batch from Madhya Pradesh cadre. He holds a B.Tech (Mining Engg.) Degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Policy and Management, IIM, Bangalore.

Prior to being appointed as Additional Chief Secretary, Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Ashok Barnwal has held several portfolios like Principal Secretary – Forest, Chief Minister Office, Horticulture and Food Processing Department Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Managing Director M.P. State Cooperative Marking Federation (MARKFED), District Collector of Dewas and Guna Districts of Madhya Pradesh.
